Abstract
Vanadium complexes of 3-Hydroxy flavones have been synthesized using 3-Hydroxy flavones and vanadyl acetylacetonate in the stiochiometric ratio 2:1. Their structures have been established on the basis of elemental, spectral analysis (UV, IR, 1H NMR), and mass spectrometry. The synthesized compounds were tested for antimicrobial activity by cup plate diffusion method. The results indicate the enhanced activity of metal complexes over the parent ligands.
