Abstract
Purpose: This paper proposes a conceptual model for the use of RCM techniques for household appliances using the proposed infrastructure of the ‘internet of things’ Design/Methodology/Approach: This paper reviews literature in third generation maintenance techniques such as RCM and CBM. This paper proposes a model for the use of the RCM techniques such as condition based monitoring for household appliances, using the infrastructure of the ‘internet of things’.
