Abstract
The ideological overlap between the Russian sociologists’ ideas of the late XIX beginning XX centuries and modern approaches to personality reveals in the article. Re- search and individual ideas of Russian sociologists of the late XIX beginning XX centuries in- fl uenced the formation of the personality’s modern theories. This is the ideas: the individual’s activity development; the principle of autonomy and freedom of individual’s choice, defense of their rights; spiritual and moral foundations of personal development; comprehensive per- sonality’s study. It was revealed that in the Russian sociology’s history were no independent personality theories and has developed some lines of research by the disclosure of certain as- pects: the personality’s role in history; the interaction of the individual and society; the moral person’s development and others
