Abstract
Many routing protocols for MANET selects the shortest path with minimum hop count as the optimal route. However the path selected by AODV does not consider many aspects while selecting the path. As MANET consists the nodes capable of moving and communicates through wireless medium it is very necessary to select paths with higher stability, so that the routes can withstand the mobility of the nodes which causes frequent paths breaks. To address this problem we propose a new approach which uses the network parameters relating to dynamic nature of nodes to find the route stability and link stability based on received signal strength. Ns2 simulator is used for comparing the results between route stability based RAODV and existing AODV.
