Abstract
Acute interstitial pancreatitis (AIP) is one of the simplest forms of acute pancreatitis treated conservatively in most cases. However, AIP transforms into destructive forms of acute pancreatitis when treating inadequately (15% of cases). The mortality rate for patients with acute interstitial pancreatitis is 1.6-3.1% while the mortality rate for patients with its destructive forms reaches 80%. Materials and Methods. Local hypothermia (LGP) of pancreas by using 0.9% NaCl solution with an initial temperature of 4 °C was performed experimentally on 60 white rats after modeling of AIP. Indicators of the blood coagulation system (BCS) and complete coagulogram were investigated for the presence of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) after the application of LGP. Results. The use of LGP in experimental rats with AIP did not cause any changes in the BCS. Moreover, the tendency to increase in the activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and the lower limit of international normalized ratio (INR) in animals with untreated AIP was noted. Conclusions. After application of local hypothermia for 8-10 hours no tendency to the development of excessive blood clotting and disseminated intravascular coagulation was found proving the safety of this method in treatment of experimental AIP.
