Abstract

In our scientific study some data on the accumulation of WGA+ receptors for wheat germ lectins in the structures of rat testes that were irradiated by low-frequency electromagnetic field of high voltage with further immune stimulation by a 7% alcohol tincture of Echinacea purpurea were identified. Data on the accumulation of WGA+ receptors in the cytoplasm of Leydig cells and Sertoli cells, spermatogenic nuclei, interstices fibers and vascular endothelium were presented. The distribution of receptors for wheat germ lectins as a part of? intercellular substance of the interstitium, on the membrane of fibroblasts, fibrocytes, mast cells, lymphocytes, as well as in their intracytoplasmic inclusions depending on the intensity of their colour were determined. In the experimental group of animals after irradiation by electromagnetic field (EMF) and usage of Echinacea purpurea moderate distribution of WGA+ receptors in all studied structures was observed. In fibers and intercellular substance of the interstitium, on the basement membrane of the seminiferous tubules of studied rats it was especially expressed. In the interstitium of the testes we observed high level of expression of lectin receptors over almost the entire period of observation. There was experimentally proved that the influence of Echinacea purpurea activates the spermatogenesis process in the testes of irradiated rats.
