Abstract

This study examined the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Emotional Contagion Scale (Doherty, 1997). The sample of study consists of 294 university students (143 men, 151 women). Their ages ranged from 18 to 26 year-old. Results of confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated that the 15 items loaded one factor (x?= 297.28, sd= 88, RMSEA= .089, CFI= .83, GFI= .88, AGFI= .84, SRMR= .084). The corrected item-total correlations of Emotional Contagion Scale ranged from .27 to .51. Internal consistency reli-ability coefficient was .75 for overall scale. These results demonstrate that this scale is a val-id and reliable instrument.
