Abstract
Turkey, entering a sharp change and transformation process with the decisions of 24th January, implemented liberal policies in foreign exchange rate, foreign trade, liberalising financial markets and reduced public economy scale to increase efficiency of market economy. In an economy the basic indicator of the size of public economy is the amount of public spending. In national economy, the fluctuations in public expenditure rates effect macroeconomic variables and play an important role in sustainable balances in economy. In this study, public expenditures between 1980-2011 are examined periodically as an aspect of economy and fiscal policy and current situation is identified and analysed.
