Abstract
A new chromatography spectrometric method of arbutin detection in cowberry leaves was developed. The method is based on purification of analytical specimen from substances impeding the analysis by aluminum oxide column chromatography. In alcoholic eluate absorbancy is measured on the spectrometer with 282 nm wave and arbutin quantity in cowberry leaves is estimated by specific absorption coefficient. The identity of arbutin from the extraction of cowberry leaves is confirmed by its estimated spectrum as well as paper chromatography in comparison with the control specimen. The error of the given method is ± 3, 24 %.
