Abstract
The article describes free muscle flap transfer in severe Volksmann’s ischemic contracture. This method is safe and effective in re-establishing functioning of hand. The most severe complication of the fore-mentioned procedure was acute arterial insufficiency in transferred flap due to vascular thrombosis. Ultrasound Doppler study is helpful in evaluating possible complications such as impaired blood circulation in free muscle flaps.
