PREVALENCE OF SUBSTANCE USE AMONG BOYS AND GIRLS STUDYING IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The article is devoted to research the prevalence of substance use (alcohol, drugs, smoking) by students of medical university in the dynamics. On the basis of a comparison of the obtained data upward the trend of substance use among girls and boys is shown. There is a significant increase in the number of boys using alcohol and drugs. There is shownthat the number of boys is two times more than the number of girls who use alcohol and drugs. The preserving high prevalence of smoking among both girls and boys is demonstrated. The totality allow to establish the low effectiveness of existing preventive measures of substance use in educational Institutions.
