Abstract

The article describes the schoolchildren with disabilities, provides a classi- ? cation of disorders in the development of this category of children, as well as the features of the psychological sphere of pupils with mental retardation and their educational needs. It is noted that these students have some dif? culties in teaching literary reading. The article draws attention to the special signi? cance of the study of the subject by students with mental retar- dation. On the lessons of literary reading is achieved not only training, but also educational problems. The study of literature contributes to the formation of personal qualities, moral norms of behavior, communicative culture of students with mental retardation.
