Abstract
The article underlines the topicality of education of a healthy person, able to realize his/her physical, intellectual, moral and spiritual possibilities and to contribute to the progressive development of the state. The paper presents the methods of diagnostics of health-keeping competence of preschool children, defines the criteria, indexes and methods of diagnostics of this competence. It analyzes the effectiveness of the formation of health-keeping competence in preschool children, revealing the changes that occurred in the levels of the competence of children in the experimental groups. The article underlines that due to the realization of an experimental model of formation of health-keeping competence in preschool children, the indexes of the levels of its formation were much higher among children who were involved in the research, than among children from the control groups, who were taught according to the current educational programs. The article determines the expedience of applying the tested model into the practical activity of preschool educational establishments.
