YEREL SEÇİMLERDE ADAY FAKTÖRÜ: “ELAZIĞ SEÇMENİNİN ADAY PROFİLİ BEKLENTİLERİ ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA” / Candidate Factor In The Local Elections: A Research on The Voters’ Expectation of Candidate Profile

Candidate factor located within factors which affecting voters political preference is becoming more important and effective. Because of voters affected directly from local government services, voters with rational approach attach importance to assessments of candidates. This study aims to expose that Elazığ voters’ expectation of candidate profile, features wanted for mayoral candidate and their evaluations of the image of mayor before local election in 30 March 2014. In this context, survey conducted with 1037 voters living in Elazığ. According to the findings; a significant portion of the Elazığ voters care candidate factor more than party factor and consider candidate while choosing. Besides, Elazığ voters attach importance to features of candidates like that honesty and knowing well problems of the city.
