Abstract
The article presents the results of retrospective epidemiological study of the epidemic process of hepatitis A on the example of two southern port cities of Ukraine. In 1982-1997 years there was a high incidence of hepatitis A. In 1998-2014 the number of hepatitis A cases was decreased. In particular, there was the decrease in the incidence of hepatitis A by 7.3 times in Ukraine (in Odessa ? by 8.9 times, in Nikolaev ? by 17.3 times).
Ukraine can be classified as a country with low endemicity of hepatitis A at the present stage of epidemic process of hepatitis A. There has been a change of the age structure of patients with hepatitis A. At the present stage of development of epidemic process of hepatitis A predominantly adult persons get sick. Incidence of hepatitis A mostly manifests in the form of outbreaks.
