Abstract
Aim ? investigation of in vitro changes of chemical composition and morphological structure of superficial enamel layer of not erupted permanent teeth influenced by remineralizing gel which contains calcium glycerophosphate, magnesium chloride and xylitol. Materials and methods. In vitro changes of chemical composition and morphological structure of 30 samples of superficial enamel layer of permanent teeth germs influenced by remineralizing gel which contains calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and xylitol were studied using scanning electron microscopy and roentgen photoelectron spectroscopy. Results. Chemical elements with the biggest content in enamel are oxygen (O), calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P) and carbon (C). 6 elements had content more than 0,01 mass percents: nitrogen (N), sodium (Na), magnesium (Mg), fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl) and silicon (Si). Analysis of the chemical composition of superficial enamel layer of permanent teeth germs indicates that during the experiment significant changes of carbon, magnesium, nitrogen, silicon and calcium content and calcium/ phosphorus ratio influenced by investigated gel take place in superficial layer. Increasing of the mineralization level of the permanent teeth germ enamel influenced by remineralizing gel with calcium, phosphorus and magnesium was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy data. Conclusions. It was found that enamel of the permanent teeth germs is not mineralized and therefore has insufficient level of caries resistance. Without the use of additional means of prevention level of caries resistance of the permanent teeth germs enamel remains insufficient even after 12 months of the experiment. The chemical composition of superficial enamel layer of permanent teeth germs changes under the influence of remineralizing gel which contains calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. Achieving the optimal level of mineralization under the influence of remineralizing gel containing calcium, phosphorus and magnesium occurs in the experiment after 12 months of use.
