Abstract
A rare tumor - hormone-active pancreatic ß-cell adenoma (insulinoma) is described. Despite large size and hormonal activity demonstrated by frequent hypoglycemic conditions the tumor was diagnosed only in the terminal stage of the disease. Dispensary observation did not consider the fact that cognitive deterioration, motor restlessness giving way to clouding of consciousness, were controlled by consumption of sweets and sugar.
