Abstract
Functional characteristics of 128 psoriatic patients with regard to streptococcal association, duration, severity and activity of the psoriatic process have been studied. It has been established that all the patients have increased concentrations of cortisol and aldosterone and reduced cortisol/aldosterone ratios irrespective of streptococcal association. In psoriatic patients without microbial association depressed ACTH compared with healthy subjects has been revealed. Concentration of adrenal hormones did not depend on the duration, severity or activity of the psoriatic process. Minimal duration of dermatosis in streptococcus-associated psoriasis and its maximal duration in psoriatic patients without microbial association have been revealed.
