Abstract
In modern medicine, the general concept of basic anti-inflammatory therapy is designed primarily for rheumatoid arthritis. Methotrexate is most commonly used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis with the most favorable ratio of efficacy/toxicity and can be considered as the "golden standard" of pharmacotherapy of rheumatoid arthritis. Considering indefinitely prolonged and sometimes permanent therapy with methotrexate in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, there is a high risk of development of toxic effects. The given clinical observation has shown that patients with rheumatoid arthritis should be managed considering safety assessment of drugs and identifying side effects of drug therapy.
