Abstract

Manufacturing Technologies select is multi criterion decision problem which includes both qualitative and quantitative factors. This paper describes the development of a quantitative/qualitative decision support system for the evaluation of manufacturing technologies which takes into consideration the objectives of a company, thus ensuring that the selected technology matches the individual needs of that company. The methodology used in the decision support system is based on the AHP. The AHP provides a means to consider both the tangible and intangible benefits of manufacturing technologies. The system has been implemented in EXCEL, which fully automates the evaluation process. AHP system for most development is used Fuzzy Logic. Fuzzy AHP is an efficient tool to handle the fuzziness of the data involved in deciding the preferences of different decision variable.
