A Location Determination Technique for Network Aided Positioning System Using Received Signal Strength Indicator

With the advancement in the mobile technology, mobile phone becoming an omnipresent computing device. This paper presents the fingerprinting location determination technique using received signal strength indicator (complex function of distance) for GSM phones and discusses the cell sense system. To test this system, we implemented it on mobile OS. Comparative study of accuracy enhancement using cell sense technique of two different sites with RSSI based GSM localization technique. We also analyzed the effect of changes in system parameters of accuracy and the effect on system using cell sense and finger print densities.
