Abstract
Online file sharing is a commonly important day to day activity that is on the rise with proliferation of social media that relies ona reliable and trustworthy network. In a distributed networking environment such as a Peer-to-Peer network there are millions of users sharing files at each and every passing moment. Social capital is a quantity that reflects multiple attributes among nodes of a network such as power, relations, and trust as the most prominent element. The network is inhabited by various types of users and we are aspiring to making it more secure in terms of privacy and reduction of malware by using certain principles inspired from recommender systems and social capital.
