The Influence of the Age Factor and Functional Dominant Side of Chewing on the Localization and Area of Facings` Lateral Dental Abrasion

Abstract
In the article the application of the three-dimensional contact scanning method for studying the localization and the area of facings` abrasion, regarding the age factor, was analyzed. The influence of the functional dominant side of chewing on their manifestations was also studied. This method allows examining any object in order to make a 3D digitized image that can be edited and processed on a personal computer. With the help if this method the following scanning was made: 60 pairs of diagnostic plaster casts of the upper and lower jaws were made. These plaster casts were made from the people of different age groups with intact denture and orthognatic occlusion. And their three-dimensional image was made.
