Abstract
With activation or arousal of the autonomic nervous system (Spielberger, 1966). Thus, Anxiety may compromise cognitive (e.g. feeling of apprehension) and physiological (e.g. increase activation of the autonomic nervous system) changes. It occurs under irritating conditions. Excess anxiety may result in abnormal functions for the body. The main purpose of the study was to survey sports competition anxiety level in National and State level football players of Haryana. To collect the data of the study 15 National and 15 state level players were randomly selected from SAI centre football players of Haryana. The age of the subjects ranged between 17 to 24 years. To find out the anxiety level, Sports Competition Anxiety Test (SCAT) developed by Martens (1977) was administrated on the subjects. T-test was used to analyze the data. The result of the study revealed significant difference in anxiety level between National and national level players.
