Abstract
Globalisation has become a widespread phenomenon over the past two decade in the sense that no one is surprised any more to find world brands in the most remote places of the world. The exposure from large multinational companies’ product portfolios has become everyday reality for most people around the world. This paper looks at the changing role of multinational companies in the Indian economy. The findings are summarized based on positive and negatives aspects of increasing MNCs in India and suggests that India must attract investment in priority areas like oil exploration, petroleum refining and petrochemicals, power generation and tourism where advanced technology need to be imported that is suitable to Indian environment. over dependence on MNC will bring the time that exists in India before independence. The British will rule the Indian economy and exploit the Indians .
