Abstract

Russia's Soft Power Tools With the breakup of the USSR, Russia has begun to experience economic distress. After solving the country’s economic woes with V. Putin, it became a voice on the international arena. Highlighting ways of “hard power” during the period of V. Putin, the same actor tries to break the understanding of “Authoritarian Russia” in the rest of the world while supporting “soft power” instruments in diplomacy. V. Putin mentioned “soft power” elements in his article evaluating foreign politics and international arena during the presidential election period in 2012. He especially emphasized supporting the educational and Cultural Centers and to spreading the Russian language and culture in the CIS and the geography of the compatriots. In this context, the Russian Federation Rossotrudnichestvo pays special attention that Ruskiy Mir Foundation, Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Foundation and The Russian International Affairs Council and the Foreign Policy and Defense Council are supported.
