Abstract

The aim of this study is to assess youth and sports policies in recent years. Youth and sports policies in recent years are evaluated with reference to the opinions of senior managers who give the direction of the youth and sports in Turkish Republic in this research. From this point of view, phenomenology among qualitative research designs has been selected in the research. Concordantly, individual interview has been done. The research sample have been created by purposive sampling methods. In the frame of the research, the datas have been maintained with the help of 13 voluntaries, using the semi- structured interview form. Research’s datas have been evaluated with the methods “content analysis” and “constant comparative analysis”. According to the findings of the study, participants opine about giving importance to the youth for the creation of public policies, by making emphasis on youth in the evaluation of youth and sports policies in recent years. They state that there are positive results of ministry structuring in terms of the applicability of youth and sports policies, and also the ministry aim at a social youth with youth policies and a healty generations with the sports policies but the sports activities and projects aren’t sufficient. Consequently, it is discussed the economic and social aspects of the recent years youth and sports policies. It is determined that sports is a very important means for the growing healty generations, the development of economy and the ensuring social peace; and that it is overemphasised on the economical, social, educational and family life.
