The Belief of Hıdrellez Among Turks: Macedonia Case

Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to introduce hıdrellez, a celebration which has been carried out by two neighboring countries since earlier times and also maintained by their own and similar cultural elements, with the help of collective works whose sources are Turks living in Macedonia. Thus, sustainability of the historic-national tie resulting from the reflection of some beliefs which has an effect on Turks living in Macedonia to the celebrations can be ensured and protected. In this study, both collective works and literature rewiev are used as the data gathering methods. Besides, by using comparison method, the similarities and differences of the celebrations and the beliefs between Turks living in Turkey and Turks living in Macedonia are given.
