Seperation Methods of Hair Origin Luxury Fibers

Abstract
It is a known fact that 35 million ton natural fibers, consisting of animal and plant fibers, are produced every year throughout the world . Plant fibers include cotton, linen, hemp, jute, ramie, sisal, coir while the animal fibers include wool, silk, mohair, cashmere, angora rabbit hair, goat hair, vicuna fibers. In general terms, fibers are obtained from nine different animal types for commercial purposes. That their raw materials are not enough, they are grown in specific places, their manufacturing amount is low and they produce soft, elegant and bright fabrics, fibers such as angora, cashmere, alpaca, vicuna and camel hair is quite expensive and has very charming features. Because of all these reasons, these fibers are called luxury fibers. Although luxury fibers are protein-based, all of them display their own characteristics. This study aims to examine the physical and chemical distinguishing methods of luxury fibers. In the analysis, their characteristic features the morphology of fibers, their thinness values, warm-keeping features, their resistance against chemicals are taken into consideration.
