Abstract
The dynamics of prolactin, estradiol and testosterone concentrations was investigated in female patients with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder under the treatment with atypical antipsychotics in comparison with conventional antipsychotic haloperidol. There were found the peculiarities in sex hormones and prolactin metabolism under the treatment of each of the used antipsychotic. Changes in estradiol/testosterone ratio in conjunction with the increased prolactin concentration can be the course for the development of reproductive dysfunctions in the investigated group of female patients.
