Abstract
The effect of subclinical thyroid function on the lipid spectrum of blood serum of young men living in iodine deficiency region. The study involved 58 adolescents aged 15-18 years. Found that an increase in TSH levels tended to change direction in the atherogenic lipid spectrum, compared with persons with normal TSH. Identify linkages proved to be positive on all counts and the most pronounced between TSH and the level of triglycerides, α-cholesterol, pre-β-cholesterol. Thus, adequate correction of iodine deficiency can be attributed to a number of preventive measures to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease.
