Abstract
The article describes the results of the investigations of the quality composition and quantity content of some classes of biologically active substances contained in the herb of Amaranthus retroflexus L. The classical methods allowed determining the presence of carbohydrates, organic acids, tannins, flavonoids in the herb of Amaranthus retroflexus L. The number of organic acids, including amino acids, monosaccharides and disaccharides, were identified by the method of thin-layer chromatography with the significant samples. The study of phenol composition of the herb of Amaranthus retroflexus L. by the method of HPLC allowed determining the presence of 15 substances of phenol origin as a minimum. For the first time the total content of organic acids including amino acids and ascorbic acid, water-soluble polysaccharides complex, pectins, tannins, flavonoids was determined.
