Sudden Coronary death frequency, detectability and statistical recording

Abstract

Specification of Sudden Coronary Death (SCD) prevalence, diagnostics quality and statistical recording in outpatients' clinics. Materials and methods. Comparative analysis of SCD prevalence, recorded in outpatients' clinics and qualified per study algorithm, was performed in 285 736 population (76.4% of them ?18 лет, 46.0% - males). Results. Qualified SCD frequency accounted 156 per 100 000 male population and 72 per 100 000 female population, that in 2,3 и 2,8 times more then recorded in outpatients' clinics level (р<0,001). 55.6% SCD cases in males and 66.5% - in females were not diagnosed and/or recorded in outpatients' clinics. The reasons of SCD statistical loss are diagnostics defects (45.4%) and medical documents recording mistakes (55.6%). Conclusion. ? SCD cases in males and 2/3 - in females are not revealed in outpatients' clinics, that causes underestimate of SCD in population.
