Abstract

Work life quality c an be seen as a technique involving both structure and process which focus on the levels of employees rather than levels of management. It might be said that the original use of work life quality indicates the quality of relationship between employee and b usiness environment, and work is intended to emphasize the human dimension which is generally forgotten. Work life quality might be defined as the degree of meeting personal needs and reaching satisfaction of employees in institutions. It is used phenomeno logical design within the qualitative research approaches in this study which aims to examine the work life quality in schools according to the perceptions of teachers working in primary schools . The participants of this stduy consist of 30 teachers workin g in the centre of Erzurum determining by using criteria sampling within the purposeful sampling techniques. The data collection instrument used in the study created by the participants themselves on the basis of repertory grid technique. Repertory grid te chnique is a technique based on cognitive structures theory. Repertory grid form consists of two parts, structure and element. Structure part consists perception of individuals about the related concept; the element part consists six schools which are rec ognized and known by the participants for each structure. In the analysis of data is used discourse analysis. 300 pieces of cognitive fiction generated by participants found to be distributed according to fiction groups at the levels of the socio - economic structure (n = 26, 8.6%), collaboration (n = 32, 10.6%), physical structure (n = 32, 10.6%), technological infrastructure (n = 20, 6.6%), democratic environment (n = 20, 6.6%), professional support level (n = 24, 8%), social activities (n = 20, 6.6%), fai r practices (n = 19, 6.3% ), organizational commitment, (n = 15, 5%), working conditions (n = 49, 16.3%), trusting environment (n = 18, 6%), the quality of interpersonal relationships (n = 26, 8.6%). It is found that the conditions of employees (n=12, 40%), colloboration (n=6, 20%), socioeconomic structure (n=4, 13.3%), physical structure (n=3, 10%), interpersonel relationships (n=3, 10%), organizational commitment (n=1, 3.3%) take place in primary fiction groups. In the light of the findings obtained from t his study, it is said that the situations in school related to the work life quality needs to be determined and the studies based on revealing and improvement the weaknesses of existing the work life quality should be given weight. This situation might h elp providing opportunity to related people and institutions of evaluating schools from a holistic perspective, since it considers the efficiency of employee and organization with which concept of the work life quality gain meaning.
