Abstract
The purpose of our research was to investigate changes of concentration of VEGF and pro-inflammatory cytokines after
complex treatment in patients with papulo-pustular rosacea depending on its severity. We examined 128 women, which were divided into three groups according to the severity of the disease: group I ? with mild rosacea (n=42), group II ? moderate rosacea (n=49), group III ? severe rosacea (n=37). The treatment included phototherapy, topical azelaic acid and antibiotic used in the original scheme. Our research showed that the concentration of VEGF, IL-1β, TNF-α increased with the severity of clinical symptoms. Anti-inflammatory action of the components of the combined treatment in patients with papulo-pustularrosacea was revealed.
