Abstract
Though conventional buildings provides, people a place to live in but the ever increasing pollution caused by these buildings is now a matter of concern for environmentalists and for Government. Green building provides the government and the people a way to combat pollution levels especially in urban areas where pressure on natural resources, air and water is very high. Studies have revealed that green buildings with their huge initial capital investment can prove to be very economical in long run. Apart from that they are environment friendly. These two qualities make it perfect choice to be considered as an alternative to conventional buildings.
