N-LIST E- Resources and Membership trends in Degree Colleges Affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh in North India: A Survey

This research article focuses on the various e- resources of National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST), which is jointly being executed by the UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, INFLIBNET Centre and the INDEST-AICTE Consortium, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. The project provides a crosssubscription to e- resources subscribed by the two Consortia, i.e. Subscription to INDEST-AICTE resources for universities and UGC-INFONET resources for technical institutions; and access to selected e- resources to colleges. The N-LIST is the most important consortium providing access to a large array of e- resources to all academic colleges in India and thus, facilitates prompt access and efficient and effective usage of e- resources and the membership trend in the various selected degree colleges, affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. This research article tangibly explains the genesis of the consortium, e- resources available through N-LIST Project and current information in various disciplines covered in N-LIST e- resources. The article reflects the awareness regarding the consortium e- resources available in the respective fields and provides the information about important databases, ebooks and e- journals. It will help in understanding the trend of the members of the various Degree colleges of Panjab University, Chandigarh (India). It will analyze the further bifurcation of the N-LIST members and their awareness about the N-LIST e- resources.
