Abstract
Medical libraries are in a very dynamic position today due to the adoption of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and online resources of medical science are demanding in the medical libraries by medical users. The article examines the role played by the medical library and the ICT tools in medical information research and the consortiums development are very essentials, to fulfils the purpose of medical users. The consortiums help the medical users, and their online resources and very useful in meeting the information needs of health professionals. Consortiums also define various kinds of information search methods and technology tools such as search engine, social networking tools, consortiums different medical resources that can be used by physician and health information professionals in information seeking. It is advocated that the formation of consortium by medical libraries in India and National Medical Library (NML) provides a very useful platform to medical libraries to develop their powerful medical healthy online information environment. Guides to medical resources and internet searching tips are recommended in the study and will be play a very effective role.
