Abstract
The investigations on economic feasibility of intercropping arvi (Colocassia esculenta var. antiquarum), bunda (C. esculenta var. esculenta), suran (Amarphophallus companulatus) and turmeric (Curcuma domestica) were conducted under guava (cv. L-49) plantation. Guava + Suran cropping system provided highest net return (Rs. 123.80 thousands per ha), followed by Guava + Turmeric (Rs. 108.21 thousands per ha), Guava + Bunda (Rs. 93.25 thousands per ha) and Guava +Arvi (Rs. 86.35 thousands per ha) cropping system whereas guava as sole crop only gave Rs. 1.33 thousands per ha. as net return. The highest cost : benefit ratio was estimated in Guava + Bunda (1:5.96) followed by Guava + Arvi (1:5.71), Guava + Turmeric (1:4.43), Guava + Suran (1:4.16) and guava as sole crop (1:3.96).
