Abstract
VM consolidation has been shown as a one of the promising technique for saving energy costs of a data center, it is an effective way to improve the utilization of resources and energy efficiency in cloud data centers. In this paper, for cloud environments, a VMs consolidation approach is proposed as energy efficiency is becoming a very important issue in Cloud Computing environments and can be achieved using virtual mach ine consolidation. Proposed algorithms have been implemented and evaluated using CloudSim simulator. Simulation results show improvement in energy consumption which leads to energy efficiency .
