TARİHSEL BİLİNÇ AKTARIMI BAĞLAMINDA GÜLSEVİN KIRAL’IN ESERLERİ: İSTANBUL’U ÇALIYORLAR VE ÇALINAN KENT / GÜLSEVİN KIRAL’S WORKS IN CONTEXT OF TRANSMISSION OF HISTORICAL CONSCIOUSNESS: İSTANBUL’U ÇALIYORLAR AND ÇALINAN KENT

Culture is of great importance in order to maintain continuity of spirituality of societies. For that reason, each nation would like to transmit its own culture to future generations. It is possible only through acquisition of historical consciousness by the youth that material and piritual aspects of culture are protected. In transmission of such values, the boks child reads are key players. From the early ages, such positive values as historical consciousness, protection of cultural heritage and maintenance of this heritage could be transmitted through the books for children. In the study, we examined İstanbul’u Çalıyorlar and Çalınan Kent by Gülsevin Kıral and sought to reveal the capacity of these books in transmission of historical consciousness. Document analys is design, a qualitative research method, was used in the study. Concrete cultural elements were recorded and it was determined how they were placed in thet exts. The results suggested that Kıral placed so many material cultural elements as Suleymaniya Mosque, Galata Bridge, Anatolian Fortress in her works and she used not a didactic style but poetic language.
