METAPHORICAL MODELING AS A METHOD OF NATIONAL THINKING REPRESENTATION

This article describes one of the representation ways of the concept "Fashion" by metaphorical modeling. The purpose of the article is to determine the basic characteristics of low productivity metaphorical models operating in Russian and English worldview, to identify general and specific national features. The work explains the first attempt to describe the low productivity of metaphorical models in comparative aspect. The obtained results indicate the expression of interest in the historical past and the present as one of the characteristic features set in the minds of the representatives of Russian and English nations.
