Domestic Violence and its Relationship to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder among Jordanian University Students

The present study aims at clarifying the relationship between domestic violence and obsessive- compulsive disorder among Jordanian university students. A selected a random sample of Jordanian university students who are studying at the University of Jordan and the University of Islamic Sciences in the second semester 2013/2014 , The study sample consisted of ( 720) male and female students . To achieve the objectives, the study developed two tools. Results of the study revealed that the total score for the level of domestic violence and the level of obsessive- compulsive disorder among Jordanian university students was moderate , and the presence of statistically significant positive relationship between domestic violence and obsessive- compulsive disorder among students. In light of the results of the study ,the study recommends activating the role of mentors in Jordanian universities and spread awareness among students , and in-depth training on methods guidance and effective treatment with the students infected with such disorders and provide mentoring programs and counseling to reduce the level of domestic violence among adolescents; because of its impact on emotional , social and academic growth.
