Abstract
The author traces the sequel of following the strong tradition of national literature to clarify the ontological state of the individual in the aspect of its aspiration to the absolute and eternal in Lermontov’s work, the poet’s appeal to the archetypical toposes of Home and Way, paying special attention to the most significant poem of the mature Lermontov - "Alone I set out on the road..."
