Abstract

The traditional structure of a sentence in the English language is based on a fixed word order, and any deviation from this model carries stylistic coloring suggestions. The interest of this article is focused on the features of E. Hemingway syntax, which helps the author to create an internal expression of the text, and the reader to penetrate into the depth of the author's thoughts. The object of the study are syntactical stylistic devices common for his writing style. The collection of selected stories by E. Hemingway served as the material of study. The aim of the study was to examine the means of syntax expressions in the stories of the writer, to differentiate among them the most frequently used and examine their function. The article contains the conclusion where the features of E. Hemingway expressive syntax were defined as a manifestation of his individual style.
