Abstract
The article analyses Thomas Mann’s formula of the holy (saintly) Russian literature. It emphasizes the main concepts of Mann’s world outlook basically formed under the influence of Nikolai Gogol and Fyodor Dostoevsky. There is an attempt to find out the main basis for cultural comparison and even twinning of Russia and Germany.
