PATIENT SAFETY PROVIDING DURING THE INSTALLATION OF CENTRAL VENOUS LINE

Abstract
The purpose of the work is to examine compliance with internationally accepted rules of hand hygiene when installing a central venous catheter. An observational study was conducted. As observers were students and residents who were instructed on methods of audit quality h and hygiene during the procedure. The study was conducted by monitoring equipment installation of central venous catheter in accordance with the criteria developed by us based on the proposal of the American Institute of improvement of health care quality (Institute for Healthcare Improvement) by estimation security algorithm in central venous catheterization. It was found that almost half of the cases occurred deviations from hand hygiene. We revealed disregard of handwashing before dressing gloves. In about 50% of the cases, were noted to use non-sterile gloves, which were treated before performing the procedure of alcohol-containing antiseptics. It was found that after removing gloves the routine hand washing with soap was realized, but not antiseptic-based one that may increase the risk of infections with blood-borne pathogens personnel injuries gloves during manipulation.
