Abstract
This research tackles an issue that hasn't been addressed before, which is the negligence of the Islamic architectural art, and the lack of its revival in the residential, governmental or touristic buildings. The research specializes in Jordanian residential complexes; as it was noted that for Jordanian residential buildings stone was the material of choice, uniting with the color to a large degree, as those are two important elements in the formation of the Islamic architecture. However, in Jordan we have been ignoring the third element which is the artistic identity in our residential buildings, as our designers and architects looked to the west for deriving their own architectural shapes; which in turn amazed us causing us to mimic them with no design skills. Moreover, the designers and architects have ignored the renowned Islamic architectural arts which the western designers try to develop, analyze, redo and draw from. Then they export these ideas and designs to us as their own, taking Al-Sharq City and King Abdullah City "Sakan Kareem" in Al-Zarqa province as an example. The researcher gave several advices - founded by his concern and protectiveness over our culture - that may be used to redress and battle this massive wave of globalization being exported to us, to preserve our Islamic architectural art, and to make sure of the continuation of the cultural arts to the following generations.
