Abstract
The author reveals the peculiarities of political life in Romania during 1938-1940. Its main result was decapsulation of party and parliamentary system and transformation of the political system into authoritarian. The author identifies main reforms in Romania before World War II, which had the aim to strengthen the personal power of the King. The author considers that the fight of Carol II against the Iron Guard resulted in the fall of the Carlist regime.
