Abstract
This article discusses the Annual Project of the Computer Engineering course at the State University of Feira de Santana, Brazil. This curricular component uses a project-based learning approach as its teaching methodology, based in self-direction, with the study being guided by a project, the integration of knowledge areas, work developed in groups in a collaborative form, and teachers exercising advisory and consultative roles. These characteristics make it possible for the student to develop a technological product related to their area of study and in a professional environment. Three experiences are presented, with the objective of demonstrating the positive aspects of this methodology, as well as pointing out the difficulties that may be encountered in its application.
